About the Composer

Diana Meux choir

Diana Meux holds a Master of Church Music from Concordia University River Forest (now Concordia University Chicago; www.cuchicago.edu/), where she studied composition with Jonathan Kohrs and Jonathan Stahlke.  In 2001, she received the Richard Hillert Composition Award for Variations on Picardy, an arrangement for flute, clarinet, and bassoon.

She also graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Music.  In the academic year 2003-04, Diana was the College Choir instructor at Laney College in Oakland, CA. 

Diana Meux was the vocal and handchimes choir director at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Concord, CA (http://holycrossconcord.org) from 2004 to 2020.  There she also led a youth band.  She currently serves as the music coordinator for her home church Grace Lutheran Church in El Cerrito, CA (www.grace-lutheran.church), where she has also been an organist, choir member, children’s choir/handbell director,  and the resident composer for choir and congregational music used in worship services.

Diana is also a member of ALCM (Association of Lutheran Church Musicians--www.alcm.org).
